Tantra is a spiritual and philosophical practice that originated in ancient India, primarily within Hinduism and Buddhism. It refers to a set of teachings, rituals, and techniques aimed at expanding consciousness, achieving spiritual enlightenment, and fostering a deep connection between the individual and the universe. Tantra emphasizes the integration of mind, body, and spirit, and often involves practices such as meditation, chanting, visualization, breath control, and physical postures (asanas).

While tantra is often associated with sexual rituals in modern interpretations, its traditional focus is much broader, emphasizing the idea that spiritual awakening can be achieved by transcending dualities and recognizing the sacredness of all aspects of life. Tantra teaches the union of opposites—such as masculine and feminine energies—and the transformation of ordinary experiences into pathways of enlightenment.
